WHY POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT?
Positive Reinforcement is a science based method of training also sometimes referred to by dog pro's as R+. Positive reinforcement is the most humane and ethical way to train your pet using methods that help your pet build positive association with their environment while learning desired behaviors. In the Positive Reinforcement world, we refrain from using outdated methods that are not based on today's science when it comes to understanding animal behavior. Alpha and dominance theory has been long debunked. We refrain from using any methods that cause pain, stress, or force with your pet.
ARE YOU A DOG TRAINER?
Currently I am a certified dog walker through the Dog Walking Academy of San Francisco and a certified dog training behavior consultant through the Dog Training Internship Academy of San Francisco.
HOW MANY DOGS CAN YOU WALK AT ONCE?
I offer private walks and do not walk more than 1-2 dogs at a time.
MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET. WILL YOU TAKE THEM?
This is currently not a service that I offer. In the case of an emergency during my care or an overnight stay, I will take your pet to the vet following terms agreed upon when we signed our service agreement.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
All clients are allowed one cancellation per month that can be redeemed as a credit towards the following month. There are no refunds for prepaid walks and no cancellations allowed outside of that one per month.
WHAT IS YOUR STANCE ON PRONG, CHOKE, AND E-COLLARS?
As a force free and positive reinforcement dog walker, I do not use, nor condone the use of prong, choke, or shock collars. Modern animal behavior science has proven that the handling equipment we use is not what helps an animal to learn. It is how we train animals with cues, engagement, and methods within engagement that helps an animal learn the desired behavior. I do not use any equipment that uses pain or force to work with or train an animal, regardless of its behavior. I have plenty of years experience working with many behavioral issues with dogs without using inhumane equipment. I gently try to guide my clients towards more humane methods of training if prong or choke equipment is something you are currently using. Together I believe we can create a safer, and more positive relationship with animals without the use of pain or force.
CAN I BOARD MY DOG AT YOUR HOUSE?
I am able to board one small dog in my apartment at a time.
WHAT AREA'S DO YOU SERVE?
For dog walks I currently serve Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, and West Hollywood.
For dog training I have the luxury of being able to serve you and your pet virtually anywhere in the world and service Hollywood for in person sessions. I am open to in person sessions in other areas if you are willing to pay a travel fee.
